Fingerprints of Love

"Never leave without hugging every girl," my friend instructed. In these traditional Muslim homes, physical affection is completely absent, and the women starve for love. I, as an American girl, was shocked to have one girl after another waiver in front of me before leaving, hoping for a hug.  I was forever marked by the hands around me as these precious daughters of the King sought Love.

Fingerprints of Innocence

“The worst punishment we can give them is to not talk to them,” the teachers at the children’s center shared. Like their mothers, these Muslim children were starved for Love, and with every story and song and dance, we showered them with affection. I will forever be marked by the handshakes of Muslim boys, thanking me for coming to share a Bible story with them.

Fingerprints of Freedom

As the basement stairwell opened, I gulped hard. Before me was a room of face-hidden women draped in black, concealed behind burkas. For two weeks I ministered in this vocational unit where Hyderabad's poorest Muslim women gathered to learn skills like sewing and Mahindi. This basement, the only place their husbands permitted them to go on their own, was their place of freedom; and as they joined hands before leaving each day to pray to Jesus for family, health and personal needs, they lavished in a new Freedom. I was forever marked by the fingerprints of Ravina as she held my hand to do Mahindi, dissolving my unknown apprehensions of the women behind the burkas.

Fingerprints of Desperation

I never imagined that the greatest move of God I'd ever see would be in a candy factory, but that's exactly what happened! Over the span of 8 hours, my friends and I toured through our friend's 4 Cadbury factories, praying over his employees. One after another, workers stood, dropping their candy jars and leaving the conveyer belts, to be prayed over. I will forever be marked by the Hindu hands that desperately pressed my hands against their foreheads, begging to be blessed.
